In a special statement, Mrs. Reem Al-Ajmi, Director of the Ministry's Community Care Department, explained that the United Nations General Assembly officially designated March 21st as World Down Syndrome Day to raise awareness about the condition, highlight the achievements of individuals with Down syndrome, and support their inclusion in society. She also noted that the Ministry plays a key role in this effort through its community care programs, which include training programs for professionals in collaboration with governmental and non-governmental entities.
Furthermore, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and caring for individuals with Down syndrome as part of its broader mission to implement strategies and policies aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to achieve sustainable social development.
