“Social Development” participates in the Gulf Housing Week in Muscat
Mr. Fahd Muhammad Al-Khayarin, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, participated in the 24th meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies Senior Housing Officials in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. It was held in the Omani capital, Muscat, this morning, 30 October, and hosted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting discussed several common topics in the housing field, including the joint Gulf housing action plan, the initiatives that were worked on by the relevant committees, housing information rules, the Housing Cooperation Council award, the unified rules for real estate owners, and the topic of the first Gulf Housing Week and what activities it includes.
It also coincides with the most prominent annual event in the world in the urban planning sector, “October Urbanism,” and in the Gulf in the housing sector, “Gulf Housing Week,” to consolidate the importance of building better cities and enhancing the quality of life as a permanent slogan, based on the sustainability of cities.
The conference seeks to achieve a set of planning goals to improve cities, urban and real estate life, develop the housing and real estate sector, enhance a sustainable urban economy, and develop an educational environment.
The conference addresses four main topics: housing, urban planning, the future of school buildings, and city resilience. It reviews more than 65 working papers in urban planning domains, innovation and modern applications, urban economics, sustainable cities, real estate development, city resilience, environmental balance, and reducing the effects of climate change risks. It discusses community participation, the future of school buildings, planning policies, and financial sustainability in urban planning.
