Social Development Organizes Disability Challenge Forum
Represented by the Family Affairs Department, the Ministry of Social Development and Family organized a forum with the Elderly and Disabled Department entitled "Challenging Disability" through Microsoft Teams. This came in cooperation with the Shafallah Center, the Social and Cultural Center for the Blind, and the Qatar Society for the Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs, and with the participation of the adventurous Qatari hero Fahd Badar. It also coincides with the International Day for People with Disabilities, which falls annually on December 3 and was approved by the United Nations.
This forum aims to improve people's roles, especially those with disabilities on the professional and social level, and to present the experiences and expertise of those who have had an impact on Qatari society. Moreover, it seeks to confront both challenges and obstacles faced by people with disabilities. Not only that but also, it discusses ways to overcome them, in addition to identifying strengths to develop them, identifying weaknesses, and working on developing appropriate solutions to overcome them.
