“Social Development” enhances the values of social solidarity through “Giving Challenge” initiative
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Empowerment Department, in cooperation with Qatar Charity and Ajyal Educational Center, continues the activities of the “Giving Challenge” initiative, which will continue throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
This initiative comes in cooperation with Qatar Charity, as it is the social partner of the Ministry in implementing several distinguished future projects, programs and initiatives that support Qatar National Vision 2030 and preserve Islamic values and good morals, in addition to activating the role of social care.
The Home-Grown project comes as the first of future projects in cooperation with Qatar Charity. It is a national social project through which the Ministry of Social Development and Family seeks to provide daily iftar meals for fasting people, created and produced by owners of productive projects during the holy month of Ramadan.
This initiative aims to open the doors wide for owners of national production projects (Home-Grown) to engage in the experience of supplying large quantities to the public with the aim of empowering them economically. It also educates children about the importance of breaking the fast for those who are fasting, and about the importance of volunteering in charitable social work that benefits them, to produce a generous, proactive generation that has social responsibility and will lead society in the future.
The Giving Challenge intiative included the distribution of approximately (90) daily iftar meals to those who were fasting through the Home Grown’s project, which are integrated meals distributed to needy families affiliated with the Qatar Charity Society.
In addition, the Ministry of Social Development and Family, in cooperation with the Ajyal Educational Center, distributed (50) breakfast meals prepared by one of the distinguished production projects daily in the public gathering square in the Cultural District in Katara, in addition to the Iftar Cannon event.
Young volunteers from the Ajyal Educational Center distributed distinctive, breakfast meals, including some traditional Qatari foods: Harees, Madrooba, Luqaimat, and others, to the public.
Mrs. Fatima Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the Ministry, stated, “The Giving Challenge initiative includes an electronic media campaign on the Ministry’s social media platforms, and it is a campaign that accompanies these events, as it aims to instill the values of giving and social solidarity in the hearts of children.”
