"Social Development" concludes its participation in the activities of the sixth edition of the "Tarsheed" Carnival

During its participation in the National Productive Projects Exhibition “From the Homeland”, the Ministry of Social Development and Family concluded the activities of the 2023 Tarsheed Carnival in its sixth edition in the “Kahramaa” Awareness Park, which lasted for five days.

“Tarsheed” is a national program aimed at introducing energy consumption, as the carnival included workshops and events to introduce sustainability developments to the public and visitors. It is also part of the global vision to develop sustainability efforts, in line with the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030. The Ministry’s participation stems from its support for the initiatives of Sustainability, which is one of the most important foundations of social responsibility.

This carnival offers entertainment programs in addition to presenting the contributions of national production projects. The presence of the Ministry in such a forum contributes to supporting creative ideas and educating visitors about the carnival and the Ministry's continuous endeavor to reach out to different and multiple groups. It also highlights the role of several government and private agencies in the country that seek to achieve sustainability goals.

Productive projects played a major role through national participation, as the carnival was accompanied by various live workshops. In addition to these activities, it witnessed visits by school students and the allocation of an area for cafes and restaurants that contain many national youth projects to support and motivate them.

For her part, Mrs. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Deputy Director of the Family Affairs Department, affirmed that the Ministry spares no effort in overcoming the obstacles facing the owners of national projects and providing all support that would highlight and market their products through many exhibitions and events. She also explained that these participations are in displaying and marketing their products and selling them to the public.

Moreover, she emphasized providing support in various aspects, as there are free courses to train entrepreneurs to develop their projects. It also sought to support them by organizing exhibitions, nominating them for participation in all state events and public parks, and providing them with booths to overcome the difficulties.

Several craftswomen who own productive projects "From the Homeland" praised the great benefit of their participation in the institutions and agencies concerned with their projects, which provides support and promotion of their services and marketing of their products, as well as the acquisition of skills.

It is also considered an opportunity to enhance and empower women's social and economic role in production, in addition to enriching the labor market, diversifying marketing fields, and motivating them to establish their projects, to contribute to the development of the national economy. These products are very popular among the various segments of society, especially since they are of high quality and meet the requirements of consumers at reasonable prices.

The annual Tarsheed Carnival is one of the most important sustainability and environmental awareness stations that are held in the country, where the efforts of the National Tarsheed Program and the supporting and collaborating bodies in the field of sustainability and energy are presented in line with Qatar Vision 2030. This vision targets students in the morning and evening periods, focusing on the importance of reducing the consumption of water and electricity, which in turn is reflected in the environment and its preservation.

This year's events were held in four sustainable venues, including the Kahramaa Awareness Park, the main event site, Musheireb Downtown Doha, and the Qatar Foundation's Oxygen Park, in addition to Aspire Park. It also included many awareness activities, including various lectures and workshops made of environmentally friendly and recycled materials, interactive paragraphs, competitions on the Tarsheed stage, and the sustainability bazaar that displays environmentally friendly products.
