Qatar Chairs the Second Meeting of the Working Group on the Amendment to the Unified Law for Empowering Persons with Disabilities in the GCC Countries
Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, chaired the second meeting of the working group tasked with amending the texts of the unified law for empowering persons with disabilities in the GCC countries. The meeting, organized by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), took place on May 20-21, 2024, at the General Secretariat Headquarters in Riyadh, represented by the Human and Environment Affairs Sector - Labour and Social Affairs Department.
The meeting brought together legal experts from the ministries of social affairs and social development of the GCC countries, as well as the Executive Office of the Council of Ministers of Labour and the Council of Ministers of Social Affairs of the GCC countries. Several key topics were discussed at the meeting, most notably the review of the texts of the unified law for empowering persons with disabilities. The law was also studied to ensure it aligns with the orientations and aspirations of the GCC countries.
