MSDF, Seashore Group in deal to support family care, community development projects

The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MoSDF) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Seashore Group to enhance cooperation in social development sector.

Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad attended the signing ceremony held in Doha yesterday.

As per the agreement, the Group will provide financial support and care to implement the Ministry’s projects and initiatives related to family care.

This contributes to the development of society and empowers productive families in the field of entrepreneurship to become an effective part of economic and social development, which is one of the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The memorandum was signed Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at MoSDF Fahd Muhammad Al Khayarin and Saqr Saeed Al Muhannadi and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Seashore Group, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry and the CEO of the Seashore Group.

This agreement aims at providing support and care for family and community development projects, and in recognition of the importance of joint work between effective institutions, and the desire of both parties to implement national strategies and plans related to family care.

It will enhance cooperation between two parties to achieve their goals in their respective fields of specialization, and implement specific projects and initiatives aimed at contributing to achieving the comprehensive development and renaissance process.

This memorandum also aims to support cooperation and strengthen the partnership between the two parties by benefiting from the expertise and capabilities available to them and employing them to achieve a sustainable and effective response to all humanitarian and volunteer activities.

The memorandum stipulates support for family development initiatives and projects and community support through the establishment of activities, awareness campaigns and joint initiatives, and participation in events organised by the two parties to strengthen the bonds of cooperation, and the organized scientific, cultural or educational activity that falls within their interests.

This will include the support provided by the group for the incentive award for owners of productive projects (Al Watan), which aims to introduce community members to the owners of these productive projects and development projects and their role in promoting social welfare.

It also encourages productivity, incubating and supporting to owners of productive projects to implement small projects and spreads the spirit of fair competition, and serves as an encouraging incentive for owners of productive projects (Al Watan) to work hard.

Regarding this agreement, Saqr Saeed Al Muhannadi stressed the importance of activating this community partnership, saying: “The Seashore Group always pays unparalleled attention to supporting families in Qatar through its scientific, cultural, and educational community programmes and initiatives.”

He said that this agreement came as a major complementary part of the Seashore Group’s ongoing and effective initiatives, through the use of the Ministry’s expertise, which will contribute directly to improving research methods and innovating new methods that serve family care in Qatar.

Al Muhannadi said that Seashore Group, through its commitment to society and its permanent commitment to activating community partnership, was and still is a partner of the Ministry through many community initiatives and activities that the group carried out in partnership with it, and through this agreement, the Group renews its keenness and continuation in providing support to the community and Qatari families. 

Seashore Group is one of the major companies that keep pace with the rapid development witnessed by Qatar. The Group has been socially committed to joining the economic sector with the state to achieve the principle of sustainability, as it established the Ataa Association, which is one of the cultural and social initiatives.
