MSDF Organizes Electronic Financial Analysis Course

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Human Resources Department (Administrative Training and Development Section), in cooperation with the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants, organized a training course for employees titled "Electronic Financial Awareness," which took place from May 17 to 21.

The course was presented by Mr. Rami Abu Arab and aimed to deeply analyze financial statements, build financial models, use Excel as an integrated analysis system, interpret cash flows, assess earnings quality, manage working capital at the CFO liquidity level, and make data-driven CFO decisions with confidence.

The training course also covered several key topics, including an introduction to financial analysis, financial statement analysis, horizontal and vertical analysis, financial ratio analysis, cash flow and earnings quality analysis, working capital and liquidity management, as well as financial modeling and forecasting.

In the financial statement analysis section, the trainer covered reading and interpreting the three primary financial statements, understanding what each financial statement reveals and conceals, calculating core profit margins and debt ratios, and linking profit to equity and cash flow. Regarding financial ratio analysis, he emphasized that ratios should not be read in isolation but rather as an interconnected system. He also explained that ratio analysis involves using mathematical relationships between financial statement line items to extract indicators that measure profitability, liquidity, efficiency, and capital structure.

In this regard, Mr. Hamad Abdullah Obaidan, Director of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry, stated: "At the Ministry of Social Development and Family, we are keen on continuously enhancing employee efficiency and developing their skills. This serves the Ministry’s objectives, aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030, and ultimately benefits the community as a whole."
