MSDF Minister: QNV 2030 Places Family at Heart of National Development
HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi affirmed that family represents the nucleus of society, the cornerstone of its stability, and the foundation of its progress, emphasizing the necessity of implementing family policies globally to ensure that family protection and well-being are at the heart of social development plans and strategies, given the family's role as the primary incubator of human values and the authentic source of social solidarity.
This came during Her Excellency's participation in the high-level session organized today by the Ministry of Social Solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of the activities of the Second World Summit for Social Development, which concluded in Doha.
Her Excellency said that the 1995 Copenhagen Declaration and Program of Action marked a pivotal moment in the history of social development, placing human beings at the center of development and calling for the eradication of poverty and the promotion of social inclusion. Adhering to these principles and building upon them is the path to comprehensive and equitable development, she said, adding that the well-being of families and the cohesion of societies are among the most prominent indicators of genuine development.
The State of Qatar, she added, places the family at the heart of its national strategy. Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030 enshrines the family as the fundamental unit of society, while the Ministry's Social Development Strategy 2025-2030 translates this vision into practical programs and policies aimed at expanding social protection, enhancing community participation, and supporting families at all stages of life.
In her speech, she outlined the State of Qatar's efforts to empower women and enhance their participation in national development, noting the issuance of Human Resources Law No. (25) of 2025, which grants Qatari women additional privileges that promote work-life balance. These include extended maternity, breastfeeding, accompanying, study, and training leave, in addition to social and financial incentives that support family and social stability.
In closing, Her Excellency expressed her thanks and appreciation to HE Minister of Social Solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Maya Morsi for organizing this important forum, which embodies Arab solidarity in supporting family issues and enhancing its role in comprehensive development, expressing her hope that these discussions will contribute to formulating practical visions that will push the family file to the forefront of the global agenda.
