MSDF Minister Highlights Women's Empowerment at 69th CSW Session on Gender Parity

Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family for the State of Qatar led the annual ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends on Gender Parity at the United Nations. The event, co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Qatar and Rwanda, took place during the 69th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) session.

The meeting convened key figures, including United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Her Excellency Claudette Irere, Minister of State for Education of the Republic of Rwanda, who served as co-chair.

In her address, Minister Al Nuaimi expressed appreciation for Secretary-General Guterres's leadership and acknowledged the substantial advancements in gender parity within the UN system.

She further emphasized Qatar's commitment to women's empowerment and leadership, showcasing the nation's leading role in the region. Specifically, she highlighted Qatar's high female labor force participation rate and the significant number of women pursuing university education.

Minister Al Nuaimi also underscored Qatar's supportive policies and legislation, which promote work-life balance and facilitate increased female participation in both public and private sectors.
