MSDF Launches Home-Grown Bazaar to Empower Local Families
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, organized the "Old Market Bazaar" at Tawar Mall as part of the "Home-Grown" initiative. This event aims to support productive project owners by highlighting their role in strengthening the national economy and facilitating public access through effective marketing platforms that showcase the quality and presence of national products in the local market.
Running through the end of June, the "Old Market Bazaar" features 10 productive families showcasing a diverse range of products, including handmade crafts, perfumes, gifts, clothing, and food items. These offerings reflect the excellence of local projects in delivering traditional products with a modern spirit. The event also includes workshops and accompanying activities, demonstrating the Ministry’s commitment to merging developmental goals with interactive community activities that enhance family cohesion and social participation.
Buthaina Al Obaidly, Director of Family Empowerment at the MSDF, emphasized that the ministry is continuing its efforts to build a supportive ecosystem for productive families. This stems from a commitment to empower families and individuals economically and socially, enhancing their roles as active partners in the journey of sustainable development.
She noted that this collaboration represents a genuine opportunity for families to improve the efficiency of their projects and achieve a tangible developmental impact, while solidifying the presence of national products within the community. The Family Empowerment Department remains dedicated to developing specialized initiatives and encouraging partnerships with the private sector and civil society. This approach aligns with the Ministry’s 2025–2030 strategy, which focuses on family empowerment and fostering sustainable community development.
