MSDF educates youth about their roles in achieving QNV 2030
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Development Department, has oraganised a panel discussion to educate youth about their roles and contributions to achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030.
The event, entitled ‘Youth Perceptions of Governmental and Non-Governmental Roles in Achieving QNV 2030’ held on the occasion of International Youth Day, which falls on August 12 of each year.
The panel discussion was held in cooperation with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and Al Dana Center for Girls with the participation of a group of academics, youth and parties concerned.
The panel discussion, hosted by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, highlighted the importance of encouraging youth to actively participate in youth centers and non-governmental organizations, developing leadership skills among youth.
It also focused on educating youth about the importance of building cohesive families, their role and contribution to sustainable development.
The panel discussion was attended by Associate Professor in the Public Administration Programme at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies Dr. Musa Al Afri, Family Studies Expert at MSDF Dr. Noura Ali Hassan, Consultant Psychiatrist at the MSDF Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al Abduljabbar, Head of Al Dana Center for Girls Wadha Nasser Al Jaber and Deputy Head of Al Dana Center for Girls Haya Ayed Al Shammari.
The panel discussion was moderated by Assistant Professor in the Public Administration Programme at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies Dr. Mohammed Abu Ramadan.
Director of the Family Development Department at MSDF, Dhabiya Al Muqbali, in a statement, said that this participation aims to educate youth about their role in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 through integration between sectors, and to educate youth about the importance of mental and physical health and its impact on their performance and contribution to the society.
During the panel discussion, Associate Professor in the Public Administration Programme at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies Dr. Musa Al Afri stressed the importance of the role of governmental and non-governmental integration in achieving sustainable development and QNV 2030, while reviewing examples and models of such successful cooperation between various parties.
Head of Al Dana Center for Girls Wadha Nasser Al Jaber, and Deputy Head of Al Dana Center for Girls Haya Ayed Al-Shammari spoke on several topics such as youth leadership and its role in society, as well as enhancing leadership skills among youth and enabling them to assume leadership roles, while reviewing success stories of Qatari youth who led development initiatives, encouraging youth to participate actively in society and the importance of participation in youth centers and non-governmental institutions.
This discussion session targeted young men and women between the ages of 18 and 38.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family is keen to pay full attention to such discussion sessions in order to raise youth awareness of the importance of integration between governmental and non-governmental sectors to achieve QNV 2030 and enhance youth awareness about importance of mental and physical health and its role in achieving sustainable development.
This is in addition to developing leadership skills among young people and raising their awareness about the importance of building cohesive families, their role in society and enabling them to contribute to sustainable development.
