MSDF Educates Home-Grown Project Owners Through Financial Planning Workshop
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), in collaboration with the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants, organized an awareness workshop for owners of Home-Grown productive projects titled "Financial Planning and Investment Principles." The workshop was held at the Malaysian University in the Al Wasail area.
This initiative is part of the MSDF's ongoing efforts to support Home-Grown productive projects, aiming to empower participants to effectively manage their finances by developing clear financial plans aligned with their personal goals. It also introduced them to the fundamentals of smart investing and avoiding financial risks through informed decision-making.
The "Financial Planning and Investment Principles" workshop was presented by Dr. Hashem Al-Sayed, Chairman of the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants. The workshop covered several key topics, including: the concept of financial planning, objectives of financial planning, reasons for engaging in financial planning, personal financial planning, and family financial planning.
Regarding personal financial planning, Dr. Hashem Al-Sayed stressed that it is a fundamental pillar of personal finance that individuals cannot do without, even if they do not own a specific project or business. The need for personal financial planning varies from person to person, as some individuals have multiple financial needs, which differ based on their environment and living conditions.
Concerning family financial planning, Dr. Hashem Al-Sayed stated, "Families today are in urgent need of establishing a family budget according to sound financial planning principles through the following steps: family financial planning, setting current options and probabilities that can lead to positive results in the future, thereby ensuring the security of all family financial needs in both the present and future."
In this regard, Ms. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the MSDF, affirmed, "At the Ministry of Social Development and Family, we are keen to provide full support to the owners of Home-Grown productive projects, in addition to enhancing their participation in the local economy. These efforts aim to instill a culture of sustainability in society and encourage individuals and families to shift from consumption to production to build a financially and socially independent and strong community."
It is worth noting that the MSDF is committed to supporting owners of productive projects within the "Home-Grown" initiative and encouraging them to achieve self-sufficiency, in line with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. The Ministry also aims to establish permanent marketing channels for these national productive projects, ensuring a decent and sustainable income that enables them to contribute to the comprehensive development of society.
