MSDF Celebrates National Day with Diverse Activities in Collaboration with Public and Private Sectors
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department, celebrated Qatar National Day through a series of diverse events held across several prominent locations. These celebrations were organized in strategic partnership with a wide array of government and private entities, including the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Municipality, Qatar Football Association, Qatar Museums, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club, Dukhan Bank, and Qatar Airways.
The festivities took place from December 15–17 at various venues, including the Ministry of Municipality headquarters, Ain Mohammed Village, the Doha Institute, Military Medical City, Building 2022, Dukhan Bank’s headquarters in Lusail, and Qatar Airways headquarters.
Home-Grown Success Stories
A key highlight of the celebrations was the participation of national productive projects under the MSDF initiative. These entrepreneurs shared their journeys of innovation, heritage, and resilience:
- Al-Jazlah Project: Ms. Falwah Bu Sal'ah Al-Marri, founder of Al-Jazlah, showcased hospitality services that blend modern elegance with traditional Bedouin "Fawala" (traditional guest reception). Having started in 2022, she overcame challenges in time management and quality control by focusing on customer feedback. "Participating in National Day events at Qatar Airways was a unique experience that helped me reach diverse segments of society," she noted.
- Artistic Touches (artist_qatar2030): Ms. Sheikha Al-Kuwari presented her handmade artworks at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club. Her project specializes in mixed-media paintings using pottery, resin, glass, and wood. A strong advocate for sustainability, she incorporates recycled materials into her art. Her advice to new entrepreneurs: "Trust in God, be patient, and constantly renew your ideas to innovate."
- Al-Batoola Project: Ms. Noura Saeed Al-Sandawana, who launched her hospitality and catering business in early 2025, participated at Building 2022 and the Ministry of Environment. She shared how she overcame seasonal slumps by diversifying into traditional feast catering and registering on delivery apps like Snoonu and Rafeeq as a home-based national project.
- Rêver Project: Ms. Hissa Muslim Al-Qahtani transitioned her passion for creating unique "Fawala" into a thriving business specializing in food carts (hot chocolate, crepes, and trending ice cream). She emphasized that participating in exhibitions was the turning point for her brand's popularity.
Commitment to Family Empowerment
The celebrations provided a vital marketing platform for these home-grown projects, allowing them to showcase products ranging from traditional dates and authentic Qatari cuisine to modern handicrafts.
Ms. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department at MSDF, expressed her pride in the collaboration:
"We are pleased to partner with public and private entities to support and empower the owners of home-grown productive projects. We reaffirm the Ministry’s commitment to working tirelessly with all partners to provide full support to national entrepreneurs, enhancing their contribution to the local economy and fostering a culture of sustainability within families and society."
Through its dedicated initiatives, MSDF remains committed to encouraging self-sufficiency among national project owners, in line with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. By providing permanent marketing windows and promotional opportunities, the Ministry ensures sustainable income for these families and empowers them to contribute to the comprehensive development of Qatari society.
