Ministry of Social Development and Family organises summer event (Asdaf 2024) for children

The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MoSDF), represented by the Family Empowerment Department organised the summer event Asdaf 2024 for children.


The event which began at the headquarters of the Ministry in Al Shamal city on June 25 and will continue until August. Asdaf 2024 which targets children from 5 to 12 years old aims at developing children’s motor, mental and social skills through various activities.
Through this event, the MoSDF is keen to provide children with new concepts in innovative and fun ways, in several fields such as science, arts, and sports.


It will encourage youngsters to interact with their peers during the summer period which enhances their social skills, instils the values of cooperation and teamwork in them, and provides various ways to spend the summer vacation in a useful and enjoyable way at the same time.

This is done by achieving a balance between learning and play, which enhances the comprehensive development of children. The event includes five training workshops with the participation of owners of productive projects (Al Watan).


This participation comes within the framework of the ongoing initiatives launched by the Ministry to empower national productive projects, provide support to them, and involve them in various activities held in the country.

In this regard, the owner of the “Jadar and Malas” kitchen project said: “My project is a home cooking project inspired by my love for cooking, and this project combines the past and the present by preparing popular and modern foods.”

“The project was launched in 2016 and with the encouragement and support of family and friends, it continues,” She added.

The owner of the ‘Jadr and Malas’ project advised to those who want to start a new project to seek proper consultation before starting their startups.

She added that there are several things that entrepreneurs are needed for establishing their projects on top of this is patience in addition to firmness, self-confidence, preplanning and avoid unnecessary criticism to go ahead with positivity.

The Asdaf 2024 event covered several workshops, including Colour Our Planet, Play with Us, ‘Mirrors , Sweets Arrangements, Frame, and Ice Cream Making.

These workshops are presented by the trainer and owner of a productive project from Al Watan ‘Khazaf Noon’.
