Minister of Social Development and Family visits Ehsan Center on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons
Minister of Social Development and Family HE Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad has affirmed Qatar’s commitment to continue promoting the rights of the elderly, providing care and improving their quality of life.
In a video published by the Government Communications Office (GCO) on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Minister said: “I extend my sincere thanks to the elderly in the State of Qatar, our fathers and mothers, because we believe that they are precious treasures in our society and a wealth of experience and giving. They are the generation that laid the first foundations for the renaissance of our country, which we are proud of among nations.”
The Ministry of Social Development and Family noted in a post on X platform the visit of Minister of Social Development and Family to the Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly “Ehsan” on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons in a gesture of appreciation for the elderly among our fathers and mothers who wrote the meanings of giving and provided a wealth of experiences that contributed to the renaissance of the nation.
In a post on her official account on X platform, Ministry of Social Development and Family said, “Sitting with them is a priceless moment. Getting close to them is a means of gaining wisdom. Listening to them is an honour and happiness. I lived it with them at Ehsan Center. Our mothers and fathers. You are of great stature, even in the autumn of your life, you create the spring of our lives. You are the blessing of society and its solid foundation. You are the secret of family cohesion.”
In another post on X platform, she said: “Serving our fathers and mothers makes us happy and increases our honour, and we will always serve them with love and pleasure and will never abandon them. Because being dutiful to them is an Islamic obligation, and ensuring their interests is our first national priority.”
