Maryam Al-Misnad: The family is a basic building block for society

The Ministry of Social Development and the Family celebrated Family Day in Qatar, which falls on the fifteenth of April, in the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, CEO of the Foundation, and Her Excellency Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Development Social and family.

The celebration, which was organized in the celebration square of the Qatar Foundation, coincided with the celebration of “Garangao”, which falls on the night of the middle of the month of Ramadan, a traditional celebration and part of the authentic Qatari heritage. The celebration of the Ministry of Social Development and the Family aimed at reviving the authentic Qatari family values ​​associated with the Garangao festive traditions, consolidating the value of community safety, encouraging teamwork and family gathering, enhancing cultural intelligence skills through pluralistic values, diversity and coexistence, developing the child’s personality, and linking it to the atmosphere. The family and the traditions of the community, its heritage and its inherent values.

The celebration program included several stations of family fun among the audience, where the children and their families participated in several representative paragraphs, such as the “Together we build the happy family” paragraph, which aims to elicit the most important rules for building the family through children’s play with the participation of the family, and other paragraphs that carry valuable messages Diversity linked to the family and its cohesion. In a statement on this occasion, HE Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad affirmed the ministry's keenness to disseminate the culture, practice and skills of building strong and cohesive happy families in Qatar by reviving the benefits of the system of societal values ​​and traditions.

She added that this year's celebration came under the slogan "Qatar is strong in the cohesion of its families", which it launched through all media and social media platforms, and it is a multifaceted initiative, activities, events, lectures and awareness-raising workshops.

The Minister of Social Development and the Family stressed that the great interest in the family comes from being the basic building block of society. She said: "The advancement of societies can only be achieved through the advancement of the family, which is not achieved through an individual or sectoral effort, but rather through the concerted efforts of all governmental and community efforts to support and care for it, protect its security, stability and cohesion, and ensure the sustainability of its strength as the nucleus of a stable society and a country enjoying a pace of economic growth and social construction, solid in the face of challenges." .

She said: Celebrating this day and at this innovative and comprehensive pace in Qatar reflects the priority and importance attached by the government's program to the family and the role of social institutions in supporting and developing construction and community growth in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the country's national development strategy.

She appreciated the attendance of Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and CEO of the Foundation, at the Ministry of Social Development’s ceremony on the occasion of Qatar’s Family Day.

The Ministry of Social Development and the Family had launched the “Qatar is strong in the cohesion of its families” campaign through its electronic platforms, on the occasion of the Family Day celebrations in Qatar, to raise awareness of the importance of family cohesion, through the hashtags #Qatar_strong_its_families_cohesion and #Million_Steps_closer, and was accompanied by a series of awareness lectures and entertainment events focusing on the gains of enhancing feelings of intimacy.
