In light of Family Day in Qatar, “Social Development” enhances avenues for family issues progress
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, in collaboration with the Museum of Islamic Art, celebrated Family Day in Qatar, which falls on April 15th. The ministry, represented by the Family Development Department, participated in the events held at the museum on Saturday, April 20th, from 1 PM to 5 PM, as part of its commitment to highlighting the role of families in achieving the pillars of social development.
This collaboration aimed to strengthen family bonds by showcasing the efforts of the Ministry of Social Development and Family in supporting the family as a fundamental social institution in society.
During the event, various educational activities and events aimed at enhancing communication and moral values within families. Spaces were allocated for children to engage with their families in games like "Snakes and Ladders" and to participate in coloring expressive pictures depicting family bonds, seeking to instill noble values in their hearts.
Building on the vision of Her Excellency Maryam Bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, the Minister of Social Development and Family, the ministry emphasized the importance of the family's role in Qatar in building a society that preserves its values, ethical principles, and religious beliefs. Qatar stands out in its local and international events by proposing effective means to address the challenges facing the family institution, which threaten its security and stability, while warning against attempts to diminish or weaken its role.
The Ministry’s cooperation with the Museum of Islamic Art comes in line with a series of works that the Ministry has been keen on due to the museum’s ongoing activities that support the family. This cooperation contributes to achieving National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy, and to raising levels of awareness of family rights and duties among all its members, as Family Day is an opportunity to strengthen healthy family relationships and build stable societies.
In a related context, Ms. Dhabiya Al-Muqbali, Director of the Family Development Department, explained the importance of celebrating Family Day in Qatar as an important occasion and community initiative.
“This day reflects the priority and importance that our departments in the Ministry of Social and Family Development attach to the family, which in turn also indicates the efforts of social institutions in supporting and developing community construction and growth, in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030,” she stated.
Ms. Dhabiya Al-Muqbali added that the Ministry of Social Development and Family launched several activities on this occasion, including a series of recreational activities and events that focus on enhancing feelings of familiarity, joy and cohesion among family members, and educating society about the importance of the family’s role in raising young people and promoting social cohesion.
