Home-Grown Businesses Thrive at Batabit Show 2025
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), Family Empowerment Department, celebrated the success of five home-grown businesses at the sixth annual "Batabit Show 2025," held at Katara Cultural Village. The event, organized by the Qatar Motorcycle Center, provided a vibrant platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their products and connect with the community.
Operating under the "Home-Grown" initiative, the participating businesses offered a diverse range of Qatari food products, adding a unique culinary dimension to the show. The featured projects included Fleecoffee.qa (freshly brewed coffee), Pagoto.qa (varied dishes and beverages), Lavloov (traditional and heritage-inspired cuisine), a live demonstration of luqaimat and other local delicacies, and Tarahib (live baking of raqaq bread).
The entrepreneurs expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the public, introduce their offerings, and expand their market reach. They acknowledged the crucial support provided by the MSDF, which empowers local businesses and promotes homegrown production.
The Batabit Show 2025 attracted a large audience, who enjoyed the engaging live demonstrations and the diverse culinary experiences. The event highlighted the growing importance of local products and fostered a strong sense of community support for local businesses. The MSDF played a key role in facilitating these connections, providing promotional platforms, and championing a culture of social responsibility that drives economic growth and sustainable development.
"Supporting national home-grown projects is a priority for the MSDF," stated Ms. Fatima Al-Naimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department. "Events like the Batabit Show provide valuable opportunities to enter the market and thrive. We are committed to supporting these businesses, recognizing their essential contribution to the national economy and diversification of income sources." Ms. Al-Naimi also noted the impressive public turnout, which she sees as a reflection of the community's increasing appreciation for local products and emerging businesses.
The MSDF's participation in such events aligns with its broader strategy to strengthen the national economy, as outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030. This vision emphasizes fostering entrepreneurship and building a sustainable economic environment that supports long-term development and promotes local production. The Batabit Show is one of several MSDF initiatives designed to empower families and small business owners, integrating them into economic and social activities that ensure their continued growth and success.
