During a visit focused on expediting the exchange of insights and enhancing bilateral cooperation, Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad engages in discussions with the Crown Prince of Sweden

Sweden expresses gratitude for the Qatari efforts to adopt and launch national and social development programs, and announces its intention to offer expertise in social services as part of discussions on strengthening the social housing system and protecting children and women.

Her Royal Highness Victoria, the Crown Prince of Sweden, and Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, the Minister of Social Development and Family, met as part of an official working visit with the goal of strengthening mutually beneficial relationships in social and development work between the two friendly nations. In the company of Her Excellency Ms. Nadia bint Ahmed Al-Shibi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Sweden.

Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad emphasized the significance of the visit within the context of the exceptional relations between the two nations, eagerly anticipating its outcomes to bolster bilateral cooperation across humanitarian, social, and developmental domains, to the advantage of both friendly nations and their people.

The Minister of Social Development and Family, Her Excellency, engaged in discussions with her Swedish counterpart, Her Excellency Ms. Camilla Walterson Gronvall, Minister of Social Services. This dialogue occurred in the presence of Her Excellency Ms. Mina Ljunggren, Minister of State for Social Services, and H.E. Ms. Nadia bint Ahmed Al-Shibi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Sweden. They explored avenues for joint cooperation and the exchange of experiences concerning the enhancement of social action mechanisms. Additionally, consultations were held on advancements in science and scientific research aimed at serving beneficiaries of social security and service programs.

With Her Excellency Ambassador Al-Shibi, Her Excellency Ms. Maryam Al-Misnad visited the headquarters of the National Council for Health and Social Welfare to review the functioning mechanisms of the Council's social and child protection services. They discussed avenues for exchanging scientific and practical experiences in this regard, alongside Her Excellency Ms. Mina Ljunggren, Minister of Social Services

In a related context, she extended an invitation to her Swedish counterpart, Her Excellency Ms. Camilla Walterson Gronvall, and Her Excellency Ms. Anna Tingi, Minister for Older Persons' Affairs and Social Security, to visit the State of Qatar. The purpose of this visit would be to further explore opportunities for exchanging experiences and fostering mutual collaboration.

The Qatari-Swedish sides discussed cooperation between the two friendly countries, ways to strengthen and develop them, and the most prominent social issues of common concern, notably social security, protection of children and women, preservation of the family system, support for persons with special needs, older persons and persons with disabilities in conflict and war zones.

Her Excellency Ms. Maryam Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, shared with her Swedish counterpart a declaration of intentions on deepening bilateral relations and joint action and paving the way for the exchange of technical and legal expertise with regard to social work, which would result in future agreements to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in this area.

Her Excellency expressed appreciation for the notable advancement in relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Sweden, particularly underscored by the annual political consultations initiated since 2019. This demonstrates a shared vision on bilateral matters.
