Development promotes awareness of behavioral disorders

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Department of Family Affairs, held a workshop entitled "Behavioral Disorders and its consequential addiction in Children and Adolescents“.

The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Khaled Ahmed Abdel-Jabbar, a consultant in psychiatry and cognitive-behavioral therapy at the Ministry. The workshop addressed the “Behavioral Disorders and its consequential addiction in Children and Adolescents “ those who work within treatment teams in the field of behavioral disorders and addiction, namely: (doctors, psychologists, social workers, counselors recovery, religious counselors, psychologists and social workers working in security agencies, in addition to all those interested in the issues of behavioral disorders and abnormalities in research and studies centers at the related authorities).

This workshop aims to enhance the awareness-raising role, and contribute to the strengthening of academic knowledge about the topics presented in the workshop among the participants from the treatment teams, knowing the diagnostic criteria and standardization of terms and concepts “related to behavioral disorders associated with drug addiction” among the concerned authorities, presenting the available means to curb the problem and the appropriate handling of each case after its diagnosis, knowing the treatment methods and centers available for treatment and the extent of confidentiality and privacy adhered to by the policies in place to provide their services, and clarification of the stages and levels of treatment programs, in addition to identifying the diagnostic tools and measures of behavioral disorders
