In conjunction with the International Day of Creativity and Innovation: Ministry of Social Development and Family Organizes "You Can" Workshop for Innovators and Creators of the Center for Assisted Technology (Mada).
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Department of Community Welfare, collaborated with the Mada Assistive Technology Centre to organize a workshop entitled 'You Can' to promote support for persons with disabilities. This event was held in conjunction with activities marking the International Day of Creativity and Innovation at the Centre's headquarters, known as Mada Lab.
The International Day of Creativity and invention is an annual event held on April 23rd to promote a culture of creativity and invention in a variety of sectors, including initiatives to integrate people with disabilities into society.
The event serves as an opportunity to showcase innovations and initiatives designed to enhance the lives and foster social and economic empowerment of individuals with disabilities. By organizing events and initiatives on this day, communication and cooperation between different groups in society are encouraged to achieve inclusiveness and ensure their effective participation in the process of innovation and development.
The workshop involves a variety of experts and specialists in training, capacity-building and social development, with the aim of sharing experiences and developing strategies that contribute to the empowerment and effective integration of persons with disabilities into all aspects of social and economic life. The workshop includes a variety of interactive activities and presentations aimed at promoting a culture of creativity and innovation among persons with disabilities through the design of policies, programmes and services to ensure that their specific needs are met in a way that enables them to challenge societal constraints.
The Community Care Department in the Ministry of Social Development and Family works to empower people with disabilities. They offer services and support to help them achieve their goals and make life better. This includes giving emotional support to individuals and families. They also run training programs to help people with disabilities build skills for better job and economic opportunities.
In a related context, Ms. Reem Al-Ajmi, Director of the Department of Community Welfare, stated: "We, within the Community Welfare Department of the Ministry of Social Development and Family, are committed to providing comprehensive and sustainable support to the disabled by implementing programmes and initiatives aimed at their effective empowerment and integration into society. We believe in the importance of providing equal opportunities for all members of society and urge all stakeholders to collaborate and partner towards building a more inclusive and solidary society."
The workshop was part of the Ministry's broader efforts to promote inclusivity and sustainable social development. By supporting and empowering all segments of society, including persons with disabilities, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030. This vision aims to build a sustainable and prosperous society by fostering inclusive development and promoting social justice for all.
